Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the hedgehog was introduced in 1991 by Sega as a mascot to compete with Nintendo's character Mario. He replaced Sega's previous mascot Alex Kidd. Sonic is a mostly blue hedgehog with red shoes, who has the ability to run faster than the speed of sound and attack enemies by curling up like a spiky ball.
