Klaverjas
Klaverjas or klaverjassen is the Dutch name for a popular trick-taking card game. It is comparable to the English Jass and Belote games. The game is played by four players. Players seated opposite each other form a team. Two versions of the game exist. There are the Rotterdam rules and the Amsterdam rules. In the first a player who cannot follow suit must trump if possible and in the second undertrumping is only allowed when it cannot be avoided. The game is played with a piquet deck with 32 cards. A normal suit ranks: Ace, 10, king, queen, 9,8,7. The trump suit ranks: Jack, 9, Ace, 10, King, Queen, 8,7.
